The chain
AdventureCoin is a proof-of-work chain derived from Bitcoin Core. Blocks are mined, not minted, and every parameter below is verifiable against the chain itself.
The script prefix matters. AdventureCoin uses 0x0a for script addresses, not Bitcoin's 0x05. Anything built against the Bitcoin default would generate lockup addresses nobody could ever spend from.
The wallet
The wallet runs entirely in your browser. A twelve-word recovery phrase is generated on your device, and the keys derived from it never leave it. There is no account, no email and no password reset.
The phrase is encrypted with a key derived from your device passphrase (PBKDF2-SHA256, 600,000 iterations) and sealed with AES-256-GCM before anything is written to browser storage. Only the ciphertext is stored. The server sees public keys, addresses and signatures — never a key, a phrase or a passphrase.
You are authenticated by signing a one-time challenge with your key. There is no password to steal and no session token worth stealing.
Security model
What we cannot do: move your coins, freeze a lockup, release one early, recover your phrase, or reverse a transaction. A lockup is a script containing your public key; the forge has no key in it. This is a property of the chain, not a policy we could change.
What the forge can do: read the chain, track who deposited what, calculate a share of mining income, and relay a transaction you signed yourself. It holds no private keys and has no spending capability.
The risks that remain. If someone compromises this site, they could serve you malicious JavaScript that steals your phrase while the wallet is unlocked — that is inherent to every browser wallet, and why nothing third-party is loaded on these pages. If you lose your recovery phrase, the coins are gone permanently. And this is new software: commit what you can afford to have locked.
Solvency is public. The forge can never allocate more than it has received from mining — the code refuses, and the running total is at /api/ledger for anyone to check.
API
Read-only endpoints, open to anyone:
Two actions require proof that you hold the key: POST /api/challenge issues a nonce, and you return it signed to POST /api/locks (register a lockup) or POST /api/claim (pull earned rewards from the pool). The forge holds no key of yours; it only relays what you signed.

FAQ
Is there a fixed APR?+
No. You earn a share of what the forge actually mines, so the rate moves with mining output and with how much coin is committed overall. A guaranteed percentage on a coin this size could not be honoured.
Can I withdraw early?+
No. The lock is enforced by the network, not by us. Every node refuses to spend a lockup before its unlock time, the same way it refuses a double-spend. There is no override.
What happens if this site goes down?+
Your coins are unaffected. They sit in a script on the chain that only your key can open. With your recovery phrase you can rebuild the redeem script and spend them from any node.
Does splitting into many lockups earn more?+
No. Weight is amount × time × term multiplier with nothing added per lockup, so a hundred small lockups earn exactly what one large one would — minus a hundred times the transaction fees.
What if I lose my recovery phrase?+
The coins are gone, permanently, and nobody can help — not us, not support, not the network. Write the twelve words on paper and keep them safe.
